What to Wear!!
Below is what each class needs to wear for their performance, including hair.
Wear: Wear your flesh/nude leotard with your tights over your leotard and hair and makeup ready to go. Make sure to wear a cover-up over your flesh leotard. This leotard acts as an undergarment that allows you to change modestly between dances and helps keep costumes from ONE Academy’s costuming closet clean. Flesh/nude leotards are required for dancers wearing ONE Academy of dance costumes! Flesh/nude leotards should match a dancers skin tone. If yours is lighter than you’d like it can be dyed to better match.
Hair: Hair should be clean, neat and with no stray hairs. Spray the hair with hairspray or apply gel throughout the hair, between the layers before putting it up to help it stay in place. Then finish with hair more hairspray or gel to tame any strays. Use Bobby pins, not hair clips or barrettes. Hair nets are helpful for holding hair in a neat bun
Makeup: We will be in ONE Academy studios so no need for heavy stage make-up. However, powder/foundation or something to take of the shine of the dancers face, blush that highlights the cheeks, natural tones for eyes, natural tones that highlight the lips are recommended. Additionally for levels 2+ eyeliner and mascara should be worn.
Bring: Extra Bobby pins, safety pins, extra pair of tights, needle & thread for any dancers with pointe shoes. Don’t forget to bring your Capezio Hanami or So Danca canvas ballet shoes and/or your pointe shoes (where applicable)! Shoes should not be worn outside so as to keep them clean and our floors safe for dancers, as well as extending the life of the shoes.
Creative Movement, Intro to Dance and Company 1 do NOT have to wear make up.
All Level 1s / Company 2 dancers should wear light make-up to highlight features as mentioned above.
