Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10

- A goal of our ours is to create a community of young dancers, professional artists and families that foster excellence, kindness, respect, consideration and service to each other. Core values we encourage are: loving one another in all circumstances, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self control. We work to be patient with each other and ourselves, bearing with each other in love, making allowances for our human faults. We make mistakes, but we work to treat each other how we want to be loved. These values are born out of our director's personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We do not require our dancers or teachers to be Christians, but we will use the values set forth by Christ to treat each other with kindness, patience, gentleness and love which fosters an environment of communication, consideration and respect that benefits everyone.
- We succeed when our students succeed! Not just as dancers, but as people who can be a blessing to those around them and hopefully as future leaders in their communities!
ONE Academy Programs & Classes
At ONE Academy of Dance we want to help each dancer meet their dancing goals. We partner with dancers and families to find the program that works best for their goals. Below are some examples of our classes and programs.
CHILDREN’S DIVISION - This program is designed for dancers ages 3-9 who are beginning to explore dancing. While this division offers classes for dancers of all interest levels, the upper level classes of this division help prepare budding dancers for admittance into our Advanced and Pre-Professional Training Divisions.
Creative Movement - Ages 3-4 years - This exciting fun-filled preschool program blends the magic of the child’s imagination with movement and the underlying principles of dance and music. With imaginations fully engaged, preschoolers use props such as scarves, bean bags, ribbons and more as they begin to learn the fundamentals of dance set to music that inspires as well as educates. Children also learn how to take class with others, waiting for their turn, listening skills, dance class etiquette and balance and coordination.
Intro to Dance - Ages 5-7 - This is a great first dance class for students wanting to give dance a try. This class brings a taste of multiple types of movement for the dancer to explore including ballet, jazz and contemporary. Dancers will enjoy learning basic steps and movement fundamentals to various types of music while engaging their imaginations.
Primary Ballet & Jazz/ Contemporary - Ages 5-6 - This slightly longer class allows for more of a ballet emphasis for dancers and families who want to begin the foundational basics of ballet training. The earliest stages of learning to use our muscles to begin to create the posture and turnout associated with the study of classical ballet is complemented with the musicality and coordination of learning jazz and contemporary movement. These styles of movement and music are not only fun for the dancers but an integral part of fostering coordination, increasing movement vocabulary and musicality as well as helping the dancers grow in personal confidence and expression through movement.
Intro to Ballet 1 Program - Ages 7-9 - This is a big kid program! Dancers are now taking ballet twice a week along with a separate jazz/contemporary class. Just like other physical training, for dancers to grow and develop and maintain the muscles and strength they need for dancing, training needs to begin to be more than once a week. Dancers will build on their previous ballet learning by learning more specific postural placement as well as being introduced to more advanced concepts and steps, all while learning to maintain the turnout that is unique to classical training. In their separate Jazz and Contemporary class they will continue to build upon the basic steps they learned in the previous level while learning more complex steps and longer sequences. This jazz/contemporary training greatly aids dancers interested in training to be ballet dancers as it not only increases movement vocabulary and versatility but also further develops their coordination and musicality as well as flexibility and strength. This program prepares dancers to be accepted into our Advanced and Pre-Professional Traiing Programs.
OPEN Division - This division is designed for recreational dancers.
Breakdancing - This OPEN level class is for dancers ages 6+. Breakdancing is a style of acrobatic dancing originating in the mid-1970s, often performed to rap music in the streets, and characterized by intricate footwork, pantomime, spinning headstands, tumbling, and elaborate improvised virtuosic movements. In the breakdancing community, you are encouraged to be different and expressive. The dance is a representation of who you are and it enables you to create something unique that you can share with your peers. This allows young people to embrace themselves regardless of their background.
Tap - This OPEN level class is for dancers 6+ - Make music with your feet! This fun, energetic class is teaches dancers how to make rhythms with their feet
Beginning Teen Dance - This class is a great place for teens who have not previously trained in ballet, jazz or contemporary to start. This 1.5 hour class allows teens to “dip their toes” in 3 styles of dance and begin learning the basic steps while increasing their coordination and enjoying moving to music of the three genres.
Advanced & Pre-Professional Training Division - Ages 9+ with Teacher Recommendation
This division is for the dancer that wants to train more seriously as a dancer. Dancers that are interested in this program will need to take a placement class or be recommended by one of our faculty. Additionally, dancers that are interested in training at the level of our pre-professional program must be recommended by one of our faculty (space is very limited). There 6 levels in this program currently. Within each level a dancer takes ballet as well as modern, jazz, pre-pointe/pointe (with teacher recommendation only). Pre-professional level dancers also take variations/character. Dancers in this program perform in our staged performances as part of their training program. These include a fall performance (usually Nutcracker), Art in Motion and a Spring Ballet production.

We will dance and minister, unified in the love and promises of God, our Father, and with the focus that our talents are to be used, not for ourselves, but for the One who created and redeemed us all.
