Professional Ballet Academy ONE Academy of Dance is a pre-professional training school. All of our classes hold the level of instruction that dancers can build upon to move into higher levels of study. We know that not all dancers will choose to pursue professional careers in dance, but we believe everyone deserves access to the same high level of instruction. Instruction that is age appropriate for each individual dancer's growing body. We strive to teach dancers that caring for their bodies is an important part of both physical and mental health, as well as a key to a long and enjoyable lifestyle. This type of training produces technically proficient dancers, self-discipline, respect for teachers, peers and parents, sustainable work ethic, consistency, and perseverance. Dancers learn these and so much more will translate into character development that will serve them in any field. Advanced & Pre-Professional Programs This program is for dancers ages 10+ with a Faculty recommendation *Dancers who are interested in pursuing pre-pointe and pointe are considered Advanced and must be recommended for these Programs by ONE Faculty. *These dancers will take a minimum of 3 ballet classes per week in addition to their Pre-Pointe/Pointe Classes AND other movement classes (Jazz/Modern) Dancers who believe they might want to pursue a professional career in dance take 4 days of ballet, the appropriate level pre-pointe or pointe class, jazz, modern/contemporary, character and variations. Because of the higher level of training and commitment, advanced and pre-professional dancers will be eligible for higher level roles in our productions. These roles require more strength and proficiency and a higher level of athleticism and artistry and are only appropriate for dancers in Advanced and Pre-Professional programs. These roles are considered Principal and Soloist roles such as Sugarplum, Clara, Dew Drop, Spanish, Arabian and Snow Queen. ELITE BALLET COMPETITIONS Additionally, pre-professional dancers may choose to participate in our competition program. Advanced dancers may choose to participate in a lesser version of this program as well. Please email Meredith for further information about these programs. FINDING THE PROGRAM FOR YOUR DANCER Each training program is designed to help guide dancers and families to achieving their dance training goals, in consideration of their priorities.
